Flowers on Taxis?!?

All over New York, I've been seeing brightly colored flowered cabs. At first, I thought it was one cab trying to stand out, but then I realized that there were dozens and dozens of cabs with the same floral pattern. It's not a publicity ploy, but the Garden in Transit project. The city, thousands of cab drivers and over 23,000 volunteers (mainly New York city school children) teamed up to paint flowers on thousands of New York City taxis. The floral cabs will last from September 1 through December 31, 2007 and commemorates the 100th anniversary of NYC metered taxi. Each cab seems to that a unique flower pattern and every time I see one on the street I just have to smile which makes me not mind so much when a cabbie tries to run me over.
