Chris Ware Takes On New York

Chris Ware is having a gallery show from February 1 through March 15 at the Adam Baugold gallery in New York City. The exhibit focuses on 40 drawings that he has done over the past couple of years for New York publications. I caught his last show here a couple of years ago and it was wonderful. Don't miss this one. It is amazing to see his sketches and what he reveals about his process through his sketches.

He's such an amazing, friendly guy. I'm glad to know someone without the rock star attitude makes such big waves and consistently smart art. And, he's from Chicago. What's not to like?

he's an Oak Parker now (insert evil laugh). I found out he lives behind me. I check this trash weekly for discarded drawing with no luck

That's so cool. Wish I could see the show in person! It makes me happy that Chris Ware has seen this kind of success. Very cool!

Ha! I used to see him bike around Wicker. Oddly, he looked just like you'd imagine him draw himself on a mid-century Schwinn cruiser....
