Seth Takes on The New Yorker
[Final cover and sketch for the New Yorker by Seth]
Illustrator and graphic novelist Seth (aka Gregory Gallant) created this wonderful cover for this week's New Yorker. When Peggy Burns at Drawn & Quarterly asked Seth to send her a larger file to post on the site, he sent her his original sketch.
Seeing these images reminded me how much I like Seth's work so I went in search of more information about him and maybe a link to his web site. I couldn't find a web site portfolio but I did find several interviews:
- Seth was interviewed for the PBS series P.O.V. about TinTin. Other interview available here are with Daniel Clowes, Chris Ware and Jason Lutes.
- The Book Standard interviewed Seth following the publication of his graphic novel Wimbledon Green.
- The Dorothy Parker Society featured an interview with Seth following the re-release of The Portable Dorothy Parker which he illustrated a new dust jacket.
