Shepard Fairey's Legal Issues

[Image from NPR. Credit: Mannie Garcia/ Shepard Fairey]

Thanks to Michael Surtees over at Design Notes for pulling together a comprehensive list of news and information regarding the on-going legal battle between Shepard Fairey and the Associated Press for his use of an AP photo in creating his legendary poster of Barack Obama.

(Seems we're not the only ones who can't stop talking about Obama. Just teasing you, Michael!)

haha good one ana. all joking aside i do want move on from mentioning something about obama every week (i'm from canada after all). but there seems to be a genuine inspiration of people throwing out interesting stuff both visually and newsworthy, it's hard not to want to look at those actions as broader models for today. i'm also curious to see how the long term effects of such actions look down the road. will it be seen as something naive, hero worshiping or more akin to diy activism. either way it's interesting to take part in watching it all evolve.
