Gum Thief Animated Film Clips

In support of his new book, The Gum Thief, Douglas Coupland's publisher Random House created a series of videos and posted them on YouTube. The animation and typography in the video is created entirely with staples.

The premise of the book surrounds an unlikely relationship between a middle aged divorce and a much younger post-Goth girl who both work in an office supply store. (Is anyone else noticing the plethora of stories being told that revolve around big box stores? Chuck, Reaper?)

This clip is done using old print advertisements to illustrate text from the book.

Several other clips are available and can be found at Doug's YouTube page.
