Goodbye Florent

Just had to post this perfect last picture of the restaurant Florent here in NYC. The signage is the perfect encapulation of the closing of this famed meatpacking district restaurant this past weekend due to sky-rocketing rent in Manhattan. During the 23 years it was open, Florent was a haven for artists, designers, celebrities, musicians, drag queens and late-night partiers.

Tibor Kalman and the M&Co crew designed their identity and advertising for years followed by designer and M&Co alum Douglas Riccardi of Memo. Guess NY Magazine will just have to cross off number 10 on their Design Maven walking tour of nyc.
