I love everything from the retro patterns to the mellow hues of these cute, new dish towels from Crate and Barrel.

Fun and funky wallpaper from Jonathan Adler. Loving the sixties vibe of both of these.

Nice profile in the New York Times about designer Peter Buchanan-Smith and his new line of axes and how these useful tools became the new design rage.

Loving these sweet and quirky homemade chocolate bars by Chocolate Editions from the winsome design duo, Mary & Matt. Each bar is lovingly made in the couple's Brooklyn kitchen and produced from the finest ingredients. Also stop by their awesome blog to get a peek at what influences them.

Show your love for the ampersand by getting either one of these niffy fashion statements: a brooch or cufflinks. Two of the fun products in the Veer store.

SeeVees and Pantone started a collaboration last spring to bring Pantone to your feet. Check out the new batch of Pantone colored shoes in their fall collection. Pretty rad.

Present & Correct out of London creates, finds and curates the cutest shop ever. Everything about the site from the design to the products to the photos is so damn sweet that it makes me want to buy one of everything. There is something wonderful and lovely how P&C deftly mixes original in-house designs with vintage finds and products from around the word. Neat!!

I just wanted to share with you this awesome new project that I just finished with my husband.
The all-new i-wood is a reaction to everyone using their i-phones/blackberries/other electronic devices in the most irritating ways. We created our own version of these technological travesties to use when your friends/enemies/passing acquaintances are being jerks with their hand-held technology. You can read all about the i-wood and all of it's applications. If you really want one, you can but it for a mere $10.00.
It's also a totally guilt-free purchase too. We use environmentally sustainable Bamboo plywood, EarthFirst degradable bags for packaging and only water-based inks. So, you can not only make fun of you friends but, act eco-friendly and smug while doing it.
So tell all your friends and let us know what you think, we hope you all like it.
(Editor's Note: The i-wood 3B has been reported by such reputable internet sources as WiredNews, CNet and Gizmodo. Cool!)

I am huge, huge fan of Orla Kiely so today I was stoked to learn that Target now carries a large selection of Orla Kiely home decor. The line consists of everything from plates to cups to canisters all emblazoned with Kiely's trademark patterns. And everything is priced to be gentle on the pocket book with nothing more then $24. My personal favorite are the pear tumblers. So cute!

Wandering through the grocery store the other day, I noticed that two huge brands had received a facelift – Pepsi and Tropicana.
Pepsi traded in their swish red, white and blue globe for an eerily Obama-like globe which Pepsi claims to be reminiscent of a smile. Besides the weird updated globe, Pepsi gave up it's uppercase block letter logo type for a lowercase rounded hipster-ish font. Overall, the new packing disappointed and confused me. The packaging failed to grab my attention and I found it unsophisticated and generic looking. Unfortunately, the Mountain Dew packaging and Sierra Mist packaging were worse then Pepsi packaging.
The Tropicana packaging fared slightly better then the Pepsi repackaging, but barely. The type on the package looked cleaner and more timeless, but still falls on the blah side. The worst thing for me was the large glass of juice covering most of the container that looked like a cheap stock image which I found not appealing. Overall, both rebrands make Pepsi and Tropicana look like knock-off generics and not a quality product.

This year clothes aren't the only things getting done up for Milan fashion week. Coca-Cola is unveiling 3 limited edition bottle of Diet Coke designed by fashion designer Roberto Cavalli. Don't run and try to get here in the states. They will be only available in Italy.

Gary Hustwit, the mastermind filmmaker behind Helvetica, has a new design-centric documentary slated for early 2009 called Objectified. The documentary will focus on industrial design and how we interact with mass-produced products and how they influence our lives. Heavy hitters such as IDEO, Marc Newson and Karim Rashid all show up in the film, but I am most excited to hear from design master Dieter Rams and whismical, smart Hella Jongerius. (Rams was behind much of the gorgeous design that came out of Braun from the 60s through the 90s and Jongerius makes some of my favorite industrial objects today.)
